What preparation work is required for the resin components?

We will be posting a proper 'working with resin' guide to the site before anyone receives the miniatures. In general terms though:

Our resin does NOT require washing of any kind! Having said that, We strongly recommend a good coat of genuine primer (Dave's been using Tamiya Fine White surface primer). Subsequent coats stay well and truly glued to the resin after that! No paint flaking will occur!

Parts need very little cleanup. A tiny amount of flashing in some cases, and normally a small runner, which will easily clip off. The resin is not brittle, so there are no problems with chipping off bits you didn't intend to!

The resin parts are VERY durable. To demonstrate, Dave's been throwing delicate looking Shaltari Gates against walls! (not that we recommend anyone try this obviously!) So far we've never had one break, and the resin accepts super glue really well... a little too well sometimes! Once they're glued, they don't come apart easily!

How have you achieved this level of quality in your miniatures?

Diligence and dedication at the design stage  is obviously essential to achieving this amount of detail. We've also invested a lot for a small company in cutting edge processes and materials. Also, this type of quality and fit only comes with time consuming effort (Dave personally spending 4 months cleaning masters + more than 3000 sub-masters for example!)

I'd like to know how your presentation models were painted, will we get to find out?

There will be a painting and hobby guide in the rulebook, as well as free online guides. It isn't as hard as you might think to achieve this level of painting for presentation models with these miniatures, although some are harder than others . Dave won't be keeping his secrets close to his chest though!

I want to convert my models, will this be game legal?

At bit of conversion work shouldn't cause arguments, proving you don't do anything really crazy, like make your models twice as big/ tall as before!

I want to convert my flying bases/ use a different style. Does this matter in game terms?

The physical size and style of the flying base is pretty much irrelevant in games, since the centre is used for measuring distances - so feel free to model your own if you prefer! Our flying bases are nicely polished and very tough though, using acrylic rather than the more common brittle clear plastic used in some other flying bases.

Are the walkers stable, and does it matter if I base my units?

The walkers are pretty stable without bases, as long as you don't assemble them in a particularly weird pose!  Rules wise there's no reason why you can't base them if that's what you'd prefer.

When will the modular resin scenery be available?

The high quality modular resin buildings will be out later in the year (going into moulds right now!) We'll also be producing other scenery at lower price points (and probably earlier), since buildings are important in the game and you shouldn't have to invest a lot in scenery if you don't want to!

How many different building types will there be in the resin modular range?

The buildings are modular and tile based, so there are literally thousands of combinations! Certain styles do match well, and looking at it that way we have around 8 set styles in around 50 distinct tiles. We will be fully detailing the range closer to its release.
